TRANSCRIPT :

My name is W Siegfried Jerrett,

and I am making a ONE MAN feature film.

I am a beginner and this is not my job.

I am filming in my spare time, which means time is tight.

One day I might film in the evening, another day in the morning.

Later I may need to edit those shots together and make it seem like it was all shot at the same time of day.

How can I do this?

TOTAL DARKNESS.

Or to put it another way, total control of the light.

So I today I blocked up all the windows on the set where I will be filming.

Thus, no natural light will be on set, so I am in control of the light.

Hi I’m W Siegfried Jerrett and I’m making a one man feature film.

So, what is my film all about? To give you an idea, we made a short film today. Enjoy.

“COMMITMENT”

A glimpse of a messed up office.

“Blake is a writer.”

Blake loads paper in a typewriter.

“He won an Oscar for his first screenplay.”

Blake types.

A glimpse of a messed up office.

“That was ten years ago”

Blake enters the room.

A glimpse of a messed up office.

“Now he has locked himself in his office,”

Blake locks the door.

“Committed to writing another award winning play”

Close up of a phone off the hook.

Blake removes blank paper from the typewriter.

The phone rings.

Blake answers it.

“Hello?”

A dark voice replies “Hello Blake, remember me?”

Blake looks shocked and hangs up the phone.

Hi everybody, I’m W Siegfried Jerrett and welcome to my film blog.

(Text appears, typed across a blank page – “Vintage Typewriter. My first prop”.)

Number one, I’m wearing my seatbelt this week, but you will also notice is that I am not moving,so I don’t actually need my seatbelt, but anyway…

Today I just wanted to tell you about a couple of films that have inspired me, the first one is Phone booth starring Colin Farrell. Amazingly, most of the film he spends trapped in a phone booth.

The other one is Buried, starring Ryan Reynolds. The whole thing is set inside a coffin.

Now for my film it’s one man inside a room. But what really makes my film unique compared to those films is, it’s just me.

I’m the actor, the writer, the producer, the director, the camera man, editor, sound engineer, colourist, promotor, everything. There’s nobody else involved in this project.

In the next video I’ll actually tell you what the film is about.

TRANSCRIPT : Hi, I’m W Siegfried Jerrett and welcome to my film making blog…. erm. Hi I’m W Siegfried Jerret and welcome to my filmmaking blog. The main question here is, what am i doing? I am making a full length feature film.

This film is, I think, completely unique. I think I’m doing something that hasn’t been done before. The whole film is set in one room, it is starring one man and it is filmed with just one camera.

I’ll post these videos regularly giving little updates of how I am getting on so I can start to feel more comfortable talking in front of the camera.

Oh, by the way I am on my way right now to pick up my first prop which is a vintage typewriter, so I’ll shall…err… I’ll check back in new time and show you that bad boy.
